Where is the Drinkable Water?
The world may be surrounded by water, but how much of it is drinkable? The World Bank’s water program has created an infographic showing that fresh water is precious. 97% of the world’s water is too salty. Only 3% of the world’s water is fresh but mostly locked up in icebergs and glaciers. Such a small percentage of the world’s fresh water is available for use. It is imperative to use the remaining amount wisely, especially finding ways to make contaminated water safe to drink.
