MadiDrops Used for Safe Water Training in India

Health worker demonstrating the M-Drop.Ultimate Mission empowers women in India to become medical missionaries, helping to bring safe water to villages in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The organization’s 43 healthcare providers are working in villages throughout the state. They have incorporated MadiDrops as part of their education outreach program on first aid, nutrition, hygiene and clean water safety.

MadiDrops are also used by Ultimate Mission’s clinical staff to treat and track water-borne illnesses.

The organization is working to reduce the mortality rate of young children in India. According to the World Health Organization (2012), 18,000 children under the age of 5 die every day on this planet. 22%, or 3960, of these children die every day in India. This one country accounts for nearly one quarter of child deaths in the entire world. Many of these deaths are due to poor nutrition, unclean drinking water and a lack of sanitation.
