Research Shows Effectiveness of Silver-Embedded Ceramics

New research out of the University of Virginia has demonstrated the effectiveness of silver-embedded ceramics for drinking water disinfection.

The published research showed that treated water samples had no detectable levels of total coliform bacteria, a leading cause of diarrheal disease in low-income countries. The field studies, conducted in South Africa and Tanzania, showed that families accepted the technology as a new approach to point-of-use drinking water treatment.
